Sup ya’ll, Nick / Stikki here :)
This is the first in what I hope to be a series of newsletters updating you on what I've been getting into and working on. I apologise if this email feels unsolicited; your email address has been collected from either my website or a previous Bandcamp purchase (via Nick Roder, Indigo or Tulalah). Please unsubscribe if you're not interested in my drivel. Forgive me.
And here comes the news…
Pushing Buttons
Pushing Buttons is the first up on the list - a new tune! I wrote it shortly after arriving in Stockholm as a way of (trying to) keeping myself sane. It was quite a challenge to be so disconnected from my usual tools and processes but I’m super happy with how it came together. It wouldn’t have come together without the help of Josh Barber and Lena Douglas, two extremely talented and generous human-beans who gave their time and talent to make this song what it is. I hope that this is the first of many songs that will trickle out over the coming months and years.
Here is the cover art; more info at the links below!
You can stream or buy the tune on Bandcamp, find it on your preferred streaming service or find out more about the tune on my website. Please share it far and wide!
Roadwarden
I’ve also recently released a soundtrack to a game called Roadwarden, a text-based RPG where you play as a travelling Roadwarden. It’s a great game made by a great studio; Moral Anxiety Studios. You can purchase Roadwarden via Steam, buy the soundtrack on Bandcamp or stream it on all streaming platforms.
I did an interview with Emily Reese on her podcast Level with Emily Reese where we covered Roadwarden and some other bits and pieces. If you’ve ever wanted to hear me bang on about all sorts of stuff, this would be a good place to go.
Entangled Life
Finally, a morsel. A book by Merlin Sheldrake entitled Entangled Life, an amazing book about fungi and the magic tricks that they wield. I highly recommend it - it has blown my mind many many times.
That’s it from me for now. Who knows what form these newsletters will take in the future. Perhaps an unbearable onslaught of self-obsessed back-patting as this issue has been, or perhaps something more sinister…?
You're so talented, cool and funny!
Love everything you do! ❤👏👏👏❤
No.1 Fan 😉
